In this project, I developed a MATLAB program for face image normalization, primarily designed to standardize dimensions across multiple images. The core implementation involves image processing algorithms such as scaling (using imresize function), intelligent cropping (based on facial region detection), and border padding (with zero-padding or edge replication) to maintain consistent image sizes. This dimensional consistency ensures compatibility for subsequent analysis pipelines like facial recognition or feature extraction. Additional functionalities include image quality assessment through metrics like contrast measurement and blur detection, along with result visualization tools that display pre- and post-processing comparisons using subplot arrangements. The program incorporates error handling for invalid inputs and supports batch processing through automated directory scanning using dir() function, enhancing its practical utility and scalability for large datasets.
