Resource Overview

Implementation of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) algorithms for target velocity and distance measurement with signal processing techniques

Detailed Documentation

This document presents the implementation of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) algorithms for measuring target velocity and distance. The FMCW algorithm represents a highly efficient approach that enables precise measurement of target position and velocity through sophisticated signal processing techniques. In our implementation, we employ advanced signal processing equipment and digital signal processing (DSP) methods to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability. The core algorithm involves generating linear frequency chirps, mixing transmitted and received signals, and performing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis on the intermediate frequency (IF) signal to extract range and velocity information.

Our research includes comprehensive investigation into practical applications of this algorithm, exploring both its capabilities and limitations. Key functions implemented include chirp signal generation using direct digital synthesis (DDS), signal correlation processing, and Doppler frequency extraction through phase analysis of consecutive chirps. Through systematic development and validation, we have successfully created a robust and practical measurement methodology suitable for various applications across different industries and domains.
