This project utilizes MATLAB programming to simulate and analyze multipath effects in wireless communication systems.
Multipath effects occur when transmitted signals propagate through multiple paths via reflection, scattering, and diffraction, resulting in multiple signal arrivals at the receiver. This phenomenon can cause signal attenuation and phase distortion. The MATLAB simulation implements key algorithms including Rayleigh fading channel modeling, delay profile generation, and signal combining techniques. Key functions such as comm.RayleighChannel and rcosdesign are employed to simulate time-varying channel characteristics and pulse shaping. The simulation framework enables quantitative analysis of bit error rate (BER) degradation, inter-symbol interference (ISI), and channel equalization methods, providing insights for optimizing wireless system performance under multipath conditions.
