OFDM Communication System Simulation with comprehensive modeling including channel characteristics, modulation/demodulation techniques, SNR calculation, and power allocation strategies (package includes 50 source code programs)
Detailed Documentation
This document provides a comprehensive overview of OFDM communication system simulation. We begin with channel modeling, covering channel characteristics and the selection of appropriate channel models. The implementation typically involves creating channel objects with specific parameters like delay spreads and Doppler shifts. Next, we explore modulation and demodulation techniques, discussing common modulation schemes such as QPSK and 16-QAM, along with corresponding demodulation algorithms. The code implementation usually includes constellation mapping/demapping functions and FFT/IFFT operations for orthogonal frequency division.
We then examine SNR calculation methods and analyze system performance under various SNR conditions. This involves implementing SNR estimation algorithms and BER performance evaluation through Monte Carlo simulations. Finally, we investigate power allocation strategies to ensure optimal power distribution among subcarriers, which may include water-filling algorithms or equal power allocation schemes in the code implementation.
Additionally, we provide a compressed package containing 50 source code programs that demonstrate practical implementation of these concepts. These programs include MATLAB/Simulink files with functions for channel modeling, OFDM transmitter/receiver chains, and performance analysis tools, serving as valuable resources for OFDM communication system simulation research.
