In this project, we conduct MATLAB simulations to study triangular wave Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar systems. Triangular wave FMCW radar is a common radar configuration that transmits continuous frequency-modulated signals and processes received echoes to measure target distance and velocity. During the simulation, we model both the transmission and reception processes, utilizing MATLAB's signal processing toolbox for echo signal analysis and processing. The implementation involves generating triangular modulation waveforms using MATLAB's waveform generation functions, simulating target echo delays through time-shift operations, and employing fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithms for frequency analysis to extract range and Doppler information. Key functions include chirp generation for linear frequency modulation, cross-correlation techniques for delay estimation, and spectral analysis methods for parameter extraction. This simulation project enhances understanding of triangular wave FMCW radar principles and performance characteristics, providing valuable references for practical radar system design and optimization in real-world applications.
