Simulation of LFM Radar Signals and Target Echoes

Resource Overview

Simulation of LFM radar signals and target echoes, with comprehensive interference modeling and performance analysis

Detailed Documentation

This study conducts detailed simulations of LFM (Linear Frequency Modulated) radar signals and their target echoes. First, we perform in-depth analysis of LFM signal characteristics and simulate their propagation and echo features in ideal environments using MATLAB-based implementations. The simulation includes generating LFM waveforms with specific bandwidth and pulse width parameters, modeling target reflection coefficients, and calculating time-delayed echo signals through convolution operations. Subsequently, we conduct comprehensive interference simulation studies to evaluate LFM radar performance in complex environments, implementing various jamming scenarios including noise jamming and deceptive jamming through additive noise models and modulated signal replication. These simulations utilize digital signal processing techniques with key functions for frequency sweep generation, matched filtering, and signal-to-interference ratio calculations. Through these simulation studies, we gain better understanding of LFM radar operating principles and performance characteristics, providing important references for further research and practical applications.
