In array signal processing, our focus is on simulating circular array antenna applications. We will conduct a comparative analysis of performance between conventional methods and the MUSIC (Multiple Signal Classification) algorithm to gain comprehensive insights into their respective advantages and limitations. Conventional approaches typically involve basic beamforming techniques using weighted sum operations, which provide fundamental performance but have resolution limitations. The MUSIC method, however, employs eigenvalue decomposition of the covariance matrix and utilizes the orthogonality between signal and noise subspaces, yielding superior signal processing capabilities. Through MUSIC implementation, we can achieve more accurate direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation and reliable results, which is crucial for numerous application scenarios such as radar systems and wireless communications. Understanding and mastering the MUSIC algorithm is therefore essential for effective array signal processing. By implementing this method with proper array manifold matrix construction and spectral peak search algorithms, we can better comprehend and apply circular array antenna technology, thereby enhancing overall system performance and effectiveness.
