Some Applications of Wavelet Analysis

Resource Overview

Some applications of wavelet analysis from my graduation thesis research, though I have since moved away from this field to focus on other challenging and interesting topics

Detailed Documentation

Wavelet analysis is a signal processing technique that decomposes signals into components at different frequency scales. It finds extensive applications across multiple domains. During my graduation thesis research, I investigated various applications of wavelet analysis and conducted in-depth explorations of its implementation. This included developing algorithms using MATLAB's Wavelet Toolbox, particularly focusing on discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) for signal denoising and feature extraction. The implementation involved key functions like wavedec for multi-level decomposition and waverec for reconstruction, with thresholding techniques applied to wavelet coefficients for effective noise reduction. However, as time progressed, I gradually shifted my research focus away from this area to concentrate on other more challenging and intriguing subjects that better aligned with my evolving academic interests.
